Sand jar filled with sand from the Sahara Desert.

A major highlight of visiting Morocco for me, was the Sahara Desert!  The dunes are massive and left me in awe.  I didn’t have to look far to do some shopping for souvenirs! Right on the dunes behind the hotel a local man was selling sand jars.  I bought a few and filled them right there with sand from the largest hot desert in the world, it was a fun experience and you get to share that when you gift it.  The sand jars also had ribbon, I use it as a Christmas Tree ornament.

Jewelry

You can’t go wrong with jewelery! I like getting earrings or necklaces for myself when I travel.  In the markets of Marrakech, there were lots of options.  Silver is big in Morocco so I opted for silver earrings.

Pottery/Ceramics

Shopping in Morocco: Ceramics make great souvernirs.
Morocco souvenir idea: Ceramic cups and mugs. The vendor did a great job packing it and it survived the plane ride home.

In Fes, there were lots of pottery items. You could find mugs, plates and much larger items.  I watched a demonstration on how locals color the ceramic pieces.  I ended up getting a few cups.

Leather products, especially in Fes!  You can find leather jackets, handbags, ottomans, wallets, and more.  There are also spices, oils,  bejeweled slippers, lamps/lanterns, larger pottery items like fountains and vases.  Some places offer shipping for larger items. I travel as light as possible so large item purchase often do not work for me.

There are lots of options souvenirs and gifts when shopping in Morocco! You will easily be able to find something for yourself, family and friends!
